The Dodgers had trouble keeping up with West Lawn Owls in a 13-7 loss on Tuesday. West Lawn opened the scoring in the first after Baldacci drew a walk, scoring one run. Lecher grounded out, which helped Shillington tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. The Owls captured the lead, 5-1, in the top of the second when Brown drew a walk, scoring one run, Wynings scored after tagging up, and Orient singled, scoring two runs. West Lawn scored six runs on one hit in the top of the third inning. Wynings drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Leffler singled, scoring two runs, and Gonzales lined out, scoring one run. Shillington scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Lecher doubled, scoring one run, Miller singled, scoring two runs, Unger drew a walk, scoring one run, and Carl drew a walk, scoring one run. Miller stepped on the hill first for Shillington. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and five runs over two innings, striking out two and walking five. Shaub led things off on the hill for West Lawn. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and seven runs (five earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking five. DeLoretta and Lecher were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Dodgers. Lecher went 2-for-4 at the plate as the infielder led the team with two runs batted in. Shillington had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game. Miller, Conte, and Caspescha led the team with two walks each. Leffler provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led West Lawn with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Orient led West Lawn with three hits in four at bats. The Owls had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 13 walks for the game. Baldacci, Frantz, Gonzales, Wynings, and Brown led the team with two free passes each.
